[edit] Notes
- Some modules change the effect of this spell, so it does not allow automatic detection of opponents in stealth, but instead grants a sizable bonus to the spot skill (which helps spot hidden creatures). Some modules also provide a bonus to listen, as this aids in detection, even though listening is not truly part of seeing.
- True seeing also allows one to see through (target in) darkness (except where altered in the module being played).
- True seeing (and the creature property of the same name) is not constant and immediate, and does not go around walls. This means a character with true seeing can still be subject to sneak attacks, as long as the attack occurs before the target detects the attacker. For example, if the true seeing target has just walked around a corner and is attacked immediately, they may not yet have become aware of the initially hidden attacker and are therefore, in those few seconds, vulnerable to a sneak attack.
