[edit] Duration
I know this comes directly from the spell description, but isn't it odd that the duration is "9 seconds"? Why isn't this expressed in rounds, turns, etc? Fitz 12:12, 24 April 2006 (PDT)
You could ask the same for timestop as well, however IMO this is a game-balancing decision or something similar since truestrike is quite powerful for a level one spell. Harleyquin 15:04, 24 April 2006 (PDT)
[edit] Spell Components
True Strike has a Verbal and Somatic component. Not only does it say so in the manual, but it also says so on the Bioware Shadows of Undrentide official spell listing: <http://nwn.bioware.com/shadows/spells.html>
and in the spell's in-game description.
I tested the spell with my character while wearing chainmail and chainmail with a large shield. The spell failed 30% of the time when wearing chainmail and 45% of the time while wearing chainmail with large shield. The display bar informed that the spell failed due to arcane spell failure.
In addition, the spell contains both Verbal and Somatic components in Neverwinter Nights 2.

- The official spell description is wrong. True strike has got only a verbal componet plus some other oddities (not extendable for example). BTW, this is not NWN2 so the comparison is not meaningful.
- I tested with Full plate and Tower shield (95% spell failure) and I never failed a casting.Kail Pendragon 18:03, 12 February 2007 (PST)
- The .2da file lists only a verbal component for True Strike. When you test, make sure you do not have a copy of spells.2da in your override directory, and test in a module that does not use .haks. If you think the in-game description and the in-game behavior should match, submit a bug report to BioWare. --The Krit 07:14, 13 February 2007 (PST)
