When I've tested the shadow fiend its default attack was always the strength drain which it reliably performed at about 100% of the time (the only time it resorted to a non-touch attack was in unusual combat situations). The shadow lord, however, varied its attacks more. Could this be from the monster AI selecting the best weapon? The chance of the shadow fiend using its touch attack claw is certainly not a one in three chance. WhiZard 07:34, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Clarification needed

I have noticed when summoning shadow fiend that it is summoned as (undead 7) yet the HD and CR on this article display 8 is this correct? Also in all my uses of the shadow fiend I have yet to see it cast darkness. WhiZard 07:48, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
