Range vs. area[]

Why is the range 'Touch' but area of effect 'Large'? --DiningPhilanderer 12:44, 2 February 2006 (PST)

  • Its a ranged touch attack GhostNWN 12:44, 2 February 2006 (PST)
  • If it can be cast from a distance shouldn't the range be something else then? 09:23, 28 September 2006 (PDT)
  • The range is for the cetner of the effect; from that point, it affects those within the specified are of effect. Faldred 09:39, 28 September 2006 (PDT)

Hostile?[]

If an undead is in the range, is the cast then considered a hostile action, thus canceling out invisibility? Mpheyse 16:07, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Yes. ShaDoOoW

Target: Undead[]

So do undead have to be specifically targeted to be effected or does simply being in the radius work? And if they must be targeted, if you target one undead and there are multiple undead in the AoE, does it affect them all or just the one being specifically targeted? --71.219.154.152 16:15, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

  • In the affected area. --The Krit 16:02, June 8, 2012 (UTC)

Spell's Radius[]

I think the line stating the Large/Medium radius is possibly a bug should be removed. I feel it's not a bug, because in game, the spell's apperance has a large radius for Healing Circle and a medium radius for Mass Heal. If Mass Heal being medium was a bug, it would have had a large radius visual affect while only affecting a medium radius. Whoever entered the in game description on the two spells probably just got them backwards.

  • It also possible that both the radius of the visual effect and the healing effect are bugged, which is easy enough to do in that sort of code. Undeniably, there is an error in either the description or the coding for this spell and no obvious way to be sure which was actually intended. In either case, the note that there is possibly a bug is accurate. - MrZork (talk) 02:58, March 31, 2015 (UTC)
  • I see four factors to consider here:
    1. The spell's description
    2. The spell's script
    3. The spell's visual effect
    4. Comparison to the similar, lower-level spell healing circle
The script and visual effect suggest a medium area of effect, while the description and comparison suggest the area should be large. I agree it's not definitely a bug, but I still see enough evidence to say there is possibly a bug. --The Krit (talk) 03:12, March 31, 2015 (UTC)
  • The agreement of the visual effect and the implemented radius are the same source. That is the coder associated a 10 foot radius visual with a medium radius check and a 20 foot radius visual with a large radius check (this visual might be better with "huge" but there is no 15 foot radius holy visual to correspond with large). So the coder was self consistent. WhiZard (talk) 15:33, March 31, 2015 (UTC)
