Hours are hours[]

I had tested the definition of an hour in-game. I used both a potion of bull's strength (caster level 3, so a duration of 3 hours) and a custom script that reported the return value of HoursToSeconds(1). When the module was set to use 1 minute per hour, the potion lasted 3 minutes and the custom script reported 60.0. When the module script was set to use 2 minutes per hour, the potion lasted 6 minutes and the custom script reported 120.0. When the module script was set to use 3 minutes per hour, the potion lasted 9 minutes and the custom script reported 180.0. Is there really a reason for me to waste my time on a 24-hour summons? --The Krit 15:48, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

  • I decided that I preferred getting rid of the false information than avoiding a waste of my time. (After all, altering the duration of spells is the primary intended result of changing this setting; reporting that it does not work when it does is not good.) And I do not revert others' edits without checking their claims first (hence my earlier test involving bull's strength before reverting the edit on 26 February). So I did the long test proposed by 121.98.207.151. I timed the duration of summon creature II when a module was set for 1 minute per hour and when it was set for 3 minutes per hour. In the first case, the summon lasted 24 minutes. In the second, it lasted 72 minutes. The module setting does affect spell durations. The statement "Spell durations or other effects that are measured in hours, however, will still be two minutes per hour, regardless of the module setting." is false and will be removed once again unless someone can come up with other evidence in the next day or so. --The Krit 18:00, March 3, 2010 (UTC
