Unarmed focus[]

I just ran a test with dragon shape. My PC had 32 druid levels and the dragon shape feat. I added a level of fighter so I could take both weapon focus (unarmed strike) and epic weapon focus (unarmed strike). Turning on combat debugging, I got the following when fighting as a dragon:

Attack Roll: 1 + 22 (Base Attack Bonus) + -2 (Size Modifier) + 2 (Nature Sense Feat Bonus) + 19 (Str Modifier) + 6 (Effect Attack Bonus) Versus AC

Naturally the roll changed with each attack and the base attack bonus went through its progression; the other modifiers changed only when using the bite instead of the claws (the "effect attack bonus" disappeared for bite attacks). I do not see weapon focus listed. This is in contrast to the same character fighting unarmed in human form, where combat debugging does list "+ 1 (Weapon Focus Bonus) + 2 (Epic Weapon Focus Bonus)". So I must conclude that the recent edit is wrong, and that the earlier information is correct. So I shall revert that edit. If the anonymous contributor would like to present testing results here to support the usefulness of weapon focus, please do so. --The Krit (talk) 04:32, March 16, 2018 (UTC)

  • I have been updating the articles for the various forms. One of the things I'm doing is making the information consistent by copying the unarmed feat info from this article to the others. I would like to put it out there that my preference would be to take this information out of these articles, relegating it to (probably) the individual feat articles. I'm keeping it for now, though, because some people seem to think it's valuable here, as demonstrated by the above-referenced edit. --The Krit (talk) 13:52, April 25, 2018 (UTC)

Duration[]

A recent anonymous edit removed the longstanding note that the duration of dragon shape is permanent, restoring the in-game claim of 1 hour per class level. While the script clearly states that the effect is applied permanently, I decided to give 118.93.29.237 the benefit of the doubt that maybe something inexplicable happens while playing. So I started up the original campaign (prelude), and during hour 13 of day 1 of month 6, my level 32 druid shifted to a green dragon. According to the in-game text, the polymorph should end after 32 hours, which would be during hour 21 of day 2. However, my PC is still a dragon on day 3 (hour 20). So I conclude that the edit is in error. I shall revert it. --The Krit (talk) 03:36, March 28, 2018 (UTC)
