The Player Resource Consortium (PRC) is a community-created custom content expansion pack that includes new classes, feats, skills, and other features, based on content from the pen and paper (PnP) version of Dungeons & Dragons third edition. The PRC is incredibly large in content scale. As of 2023, the PRC has 235 released classes, 1,500 feats, 1,500 spells, and 130 races.

History[]

Although unnamed, the PRC was founded by Stratovarius in early December 2003 after the release of Hordes of the Underdark (HotU). Stratovarius had been playing through the HotU campaign using a pale master and mr_bumpkin's caster level script. He was enjoying it quite thoroughly, but decided that the pale master was just not good enough to be a pure caster prestige class. As such, he decided to make his own, starting with the mage killer, progressing to the Harper mage, and then the spellsword. These three formed the first release of what became the PRC and the beginning of the group.

Soon after that version, hennessy shane sent his PnP shifter and the lich template to Stratovarius (using the SetAppearence() function) for inclusion into the PRC. After that, things started to roll, with the setup of CVS, websites, forums, lots of email, and a product to be proud of. The PRC has expanded significantly since then, constantly absorbing more content and more people; as of 2023 has 40 or so active members on the forum and 900 members on Discord, the discussion platform.

The PRC has been given the honor of being one of the first three hak packs inducted into the Neverwinter Vault Hall of Fame.
