Paralyze

Paralysis: Paralyzed individuals are unable to move or take actions of any kind and are considered prone flat-footed. A paralyzed NPC with 4 HD or less will be killed instantly if attacked.

Petrification will override the effects of paralysis, including the susceptibility to a coup de grâce.
