The examine action is used to bring up a window containing a (textual) description of objects within the game. If used on an unidentified item, a lore check is made to identify the item before the window appears.
"Examine" is the top option in the radial menu of most objects, and it can be assigned to a quickslot for use on any clickable object (including a player's own character).
