Special abilities Edit
The crossbow of the drow mage fires bolts that have a 50% chance of stunning the target for 2 rounds, provided a DC 14 saving throw is failed. Drow mages also can cast darkness as a spell-like ability once per day with a caster level of 10 for the level 11 mage and 15 for the level 18 and 26 mages.
Drow mages are sorcerers with a casting level one less than their hit dice. Despite their level differences, they all know exactly the same spells. The number of castings per day does fluctuate, but higher level spell slots cannot be taken advantage of, since the drow mage was not given any meta-magic feats. The spells and castings per day are shown below.
|Level 0||daze, light, ray of frost, resistance||6 castings|
|Level 1||burning hands, grease, mage armor, magic missile, sleep||7, 7, or 8 castings|
|Level 2||invisibility, lesser dispel, Melf's acid arrow, see invisibility||7 castings|
|Level 3||fireball, haste, summon creature III||6, 6, or 7 castings|
|Level 4||improved invisibility, stoneskin||5, 6, or 7 castings|
|Level 5||cone of cold||3, 6, or 7 castings|
- Added in the Hordes of the Underdark expansion
- The cloak for the drow mage allows for the spell darkness to be cast once per day at caster level 3, but the AI is unable to make use of cast spell properties on equipped items.
- A drow mage cannot be disarmed. Should the AI tell it to unequip its crossbow, it will use unarmed strike.
