Desther

Desther is introduced as a Helmite guard in the first chapter of the story. He argues with Fenthick Moss about the correct way Aribeth should deal with the plague. Desther has Helmite guards through out the city of Neverwinter that give out blessings.

  

Through out the prelude and first chapter of the original campaign, Desther is often distrusting of the hero, thinks foolishly of Aribeth, and is constantly arguing with Fenthick. At the end of the first chapter, he reveals that he is part of the cult to blame. After the cure for the wailing death is created, he steals it and sends false Helmites to slay the temple inhabitants. He is on the upper level of Helm's Hold, which is now filled with demons, zombies, and false Helmites. It is revealed that he broke off from the cult and is now useless to them.

After his defeat, he is executed by being burned at the stake.
