Defensive roll

Type of feat: class
Prerequisite: rogue 10, shadowdancer 5
Required for: epic dodge

Specifics: If the character is struck by a potentially lethal blow, he makes a reflex saving throw (DC = damage dealt). If successful, he takes only half damage from the blow.

Use: automatic, but limited to one use per day. Flat-footed characters cannot make a defensive roll.

[edit] Notes

  • This feat is only available to a rogue as a bonus feat, not as a general feat. Shadowdancers receive it automatically at level 5.
  • Damage from on-hit properties, such as from darkfire or flame weapon, is not recognized by defensive roll, so such damage is not reduced.

  • Prior to version 1.69, there was no limit to how many times per day this feat would be used, despite the in-game description saying it could only be used once per day.
