Craft wand

From NWNWiki

Craft wand

Type of feat: item creation (general feat)
Prerequisite: spellcaster level 5+

Specifics: The spellcaster can create a wand of any spell of 4th level or lower that he knows. Crafting a wand costs a small amount of XP and gold, depending on the level of the spell to be crafted into the wand. A newly created wand has 1d20 + 1 charge per level of the character (up to a maximum of 50 charges). The cost for crafting a wand depends on the level of the spell as well as the level of the resulting wand. Some examples:

Use: selected (In order to craft a wand, the character has to cast the spell in question on a specially crafted (bone) wand.)

[edit] Notes

  • Requires Hordes of the Underdark.
  • Spells granted by feats or special abilities cannot be used to craft a wand.
  • Spells with a range of "personal" cannot be used to craft a wand.
  • Bone wands can be crafted with the craft weapon skill (DC: 13).
  • The number of charges depends on caster level, rather than the character level mentioned in this feat's description.
  • When casting a spell on a bone wand, all metamagic aspects are ignored.

[edit] Custom content notes

  • A custom class must have this feat in their feat list, or that class will not be able to select it as a general feat.
  • The maximum spell level that can be crafted into a wand is controlled by the constant X2_CI_CRAFTWAND_MAXLEVEL defined in the script x2_inc_craft. To make a change to this constant effective, the script x2_pc_craft needs to be recompiled.
    • Even if the level limit is raised, the spells dirge and elemental swarm cannot be used to craft a wand without a .2da change.
