Concentration

Concentration checks are made whenever a character is distracted during the act of casting a spell. It is also used to avoid the effects of the taunt skill.

• Classes: bard, blackguard, cleric, druid, Dwarven Defender, fighter, monk, paladin, Pale Master, ranger, red dragon disciple, shifter, sorcerer, wizard

• Cross-Class: yes

• Requires Training: no

• Check: The difficulty class to avoid casting failure is equal to 10 + damage received + spell level.

• Use: automatic

• Concentration checks are also made when casting a spell in defensive casting mode. The difficulty class for this type of check is 15 + spell level. The combat casting feat eliminates the -4 penalty if casting defensively within four meters of an enemy.
• When resisting a taunt, the check is an opposed roll.
