The client-side changes of the Community Patch Project are the ones that affect only the client, and as such are more perceptually-oriented than gameplay-oriented. (This excludes most text changes, as they are described under talk table changes.) They are also localized to the computer on which they are installed; in a multiplayer game, players without the project installed will still see and hear the BioWare content. For example, a player with the project installed may use a tattoo color as the eye color for some character heads, but those without the patch will still see the standard color BioWare used. (Conversely, a player without this patch might use a tattoo color as a tattoo color, and a player with this patch would see that as the first player's character's eye color, as well as being the tattoo color.)
The client-side changes in the Community Patch Project are the following:
- Hand and foot models (for player characters) have been made better.
- Heads (for player characters) have more color variety.
- Eyebrows and stubble have been given the hair color.
- Eyes have been given the tatoo1 color.
- Lips on the female heads have been given the tatoo2 color.
- The sound accompanying the firing of elemental projectiles has been removed (the project author found it annoying).
- New immunity icons (for the different types of immunity) replace the single icon from BioWare.
- The gnome shin and forearm models have been shrunk to 70% of their official size, making gnomes closer to human proportions.
- The Linu head clipping issue has been fixed.
- The black border around some scrolls has been changed to transparent.
- The drider close combat animation has been fixed.
- Some creature textures and models (platinum-haired nymph; gorgon and dire boar uv mapping) have been fixed.
- Some item textures and models (large shield from 1.69; web placeable) have been fixed.
- The icon for walk/run has been changed to a new custom one.
- The description of ability bonuses on items has been changed from its official name of "Enhancement Bonus" to "Ability bonus". (This requires also a talk table change.)
